My Story

The articles on this site are written by Greg Roder - pictured in panel above with 5 yr old Landseer Newfoundland "Nemesis" on a happy loose-leash walk - and 4 mnth old Scottish Terrier "Bonnie Brae" learning the "sit-stay" - under Nemi's supervision.
Greg has owned and trained farm bred working Kelpies (also used as a gun-dog) and mixed breed cattle dogs, German Shepherds, Dobermans and various X-breed family pets.

Greg holds a B.Sc.(H1) {Honours Thesis Year}, a Ph.D. (in science - both Melbourne University) and a Masters of Business Law (Monash University).

Greg has completed the Australian DOGS NSW Instructor Training Program and the Australian Delta Institute 2-year Certificate IV [ACM40322] in Animal Behaviour and Training (Australian Government accredited program). This latter covers topics from animal welfare, advice on companion animal selection and industry compliance, pet enrichment strategies, animal behaviour and management training - from individual advice to group training classes through to conducting animal behaviour assessments and conducting community awareness programs.
Greg is a volunteer instructor at an all-breeds dog training club in New South Wales (affiliated with DOGS NSW) and has recently (mid-2025) joined a large veterinary practice in the Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia, area as a consultant dog trainer (puppy and senior dog classes) and dog behaviour consultant.
